Texas Groundwater Conservation District Lookup
A Groundwater Conservation District (GCD) is a local government entity created by the Texas Legislature to manage and protect groundwater resources in a specific area. Texas has more than 100 GCDs, each with authority to set rules on well permits, pumping limits, and registration requirements. If your property falls within a GCD, those rules apply to any wells on the land.
Under TREC Form 61-0, effective May 4, 2026, every Texas property seller must disclose GCD status, well records, permit numbers, and surface water rights on every transaction. Use the tool below to start your disclosure now.
For a complete breakdown of every field on TREC Form 61-0, what sellers must disclose, and how TurnkeyWells can pre-populate your report from official state records, visit our TREC Form 61-0 Complete Guide.
